Orthodontics is the treatment of irregularities in the teeth (especially of alignment and occlusion) and jaws, including the use of braces.
Dr. Carr is so appreciative that you have taken time to learn more about orthodontics and what our practice is all about. Most general dentists will recommend an orthodontic consult around age 7-8 depending on the child’s dental growth. We invite you in to meet Dr. Carr and the staff and to determine what the appropriate recommendations could be for your specific child. No two children are the same dentally so it is important to screen children at a younger age to prepare for what may be needed as they grow older. Many times younger children will remain in an “observation” phase until they are truly ready to begin treatment. Other children may benefit from early orthodontic treatment. Although a lot of our focus goes to children and adolescents, we are also so pleased when given the chance to work with adults. Many times adults were not able to receive orthodontic treatment at a younger age. It is never too late to discuss options for your dental health. We are happy to discuss orthodontic options for patients of all ages. We look forward to meeting you soon!
